PSFCU Scholarship Recipient, Mr. Alex Powietrzynski, Runs for New York State Assembly

(New York, October 28, 2010) The PSFCU scholarship program, aimed at providing support to young, bright members of the Polish-American community, has started to yield the intended results. Our scholarship recipient, Mr. Alex Powierztrzynski, is running for the New York State Assembly from the 28th District in the borough of Queens.

Alex, a 2008 recipient of PSFCU Scholarship and of the prestigious Presidential Scholar Scholarship, graduated from the Fordham University School of Law in May of this year. As an active member of social organizations during his college career, Alex received the Archibald R Public Service Award - a prestigious award granted for his dedication to public service during his studies, as well as a special graduate citation for social work during his law studies.

We are proud that a representative of the young Polonia is an active member of the political life of our community and we trust that more and more of our young compatriots will represent our ethnic group in the US.

We are also happy to note that Mr. Daniel Donovan, whose mother is of Polish descent, is also a candidate in the New York elections, running for the post of Attorney General.

In our opinion, political activity of the young Polonia as well as persons identifying themselves with our ethnic group and actively working toward our common well-being merits our respect and our support.

WE INVITE THE POLONIA TO REGISTER TO VOTE AND TO TAKE ACTIVE PART IN THE UPCOMING ELECTIONS!
